A significant focus of Scott's practice is in the area of employment law and litigation where he counsels both businesses and individuals in matters including, hiring, negotiation of employment contracts, severance agreements, termination and reductions-in-force, drafting of employee manuals and non-compete, non-solicitation and confidentiality agreements and litigating the myriad claims that arise in the law of the workplace before state and federal adminstrative agencies and courts. Scott is a frequent lecturer on employment law issues and provides state-mandated sexual harassment training to businesses. Scott also litigates a broad array of commercial cases and handles personal injury and family law matters. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Employment Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and a member of its federal Practice Section as well.  He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (including its Employment Law Section), the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, the American Inns of Court, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Scott also serves as a Special Master for the State Superior Court.

On a personal level, Scott is a member of the Board of Selectmen in his hometown of Easton, a member of the Board of the Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center, and a member of the Board of Trustees Advisory Council at Fairfield University.
