A significant focus of Scott's practice is in the area of employment law and litigation where he counsels both businesses and individuals in matters including, hiring, negotiation of employment contracts, severance agreements, termination and reductions-in-force, drafting of employee manuals and non-compete/proprietary information agreements and litigating the myriad claims that arise in the law of the workplace in the state and federal adminstrative process and in court. Scott is a frequent lecturer on employment law issues and provides state-mandated sexual harassment training to businesses. Scott also litigates a broad array of commercial cases and handles personal injury and family law matters. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Employment Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Fairfield County Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (including its Employment Law Section), the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, the American Inns of Court, and the Society of Human Resource Management. Scott also serves as a Special Master for the State Superior Court.

On a personal level, Scott is the Chairman of the Board of the Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center, a member of the Board of Trustees Advisory Council at Fairfield University, and a regular member of the Planning and Zoning Commission in his hometown of Easton.
