Jonathan J. Kelson
Jonathan J. Kelson is a senior associate in the Litigation and Intellectual Property Departments.
Mr. Kelson practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation and intellectual property. He has represented individuals and business entities in state and federal courts in a variety of matters, including insurance coverage and defense, employment litigation, contract and business disputes, unfair trade practice matters, real estate and title litigation and creditor’s rights. Mr. Kelson provides insurance coverage advice to carriers and policyholders, and his insurance litigation experience includes bad faith and extra-contractual matters, unfair insurance practices and declaratory judgment actions. He also defends insureds in professional malpractice, employment and product liability actions. Mr. Kelson has considerable appellate experience, handling appeals to the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts. Mr. Kelson also represents clients in alternative dispute resolution forums, including arbitration and mediation.
In addition, Mr. Kelson represents clients in a variety of intellectual property matters, including litigation and the defense and enforcement of intellectual property rights. He has experience in trade secret litigation, and trademark and copyright infringement matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kelson was a legal research clerk with the Connecticut Superior Court.
Mr. Kelson is active in state and local bar activities. He is an Executive Committee Member of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section (YLS), and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Insurance Law Committee and Chair of the YLS Stamford Local Unit. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Employment Law Committee of the Fairfield County Bar Association.
Mr. Kelson is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and Fairfield County Bar Association.
